Delta Community Action Foundation, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of executing, coordinating, and planning programs authorized by federal, state and local entities to alleviate and attempt to eradicate poverty in the following counties: McClain, Garvin, and Stephens.
The population within the tri-county geographical boundaries numbers 96,437. The population living below the poverty line as recorded by the 2000 Census is as follows: Garvin County - 5,143; Stephens County - 7,125; and McClain County - 3,856. Total poverty population is 16,124.
Delta Community Action Foundation, Inc. administers programs through a county office in each of the three counties. The Administrative Office is located in Lindsay.
An eighteen (18) member Board of Directors governs Delta Community Action. The Board is composed of six (6) members from the low-sector, six (6) members from the private sector, and six (6) members from the public sector.
